"The Alabama Boxing Hall of Fame is proud to induct Huntsville’s Brad Ginn to the Class of 2025 in the Amateur Boxer category!
Ginn has had two boxing careers. In the early 2000’s, he won 20 of 24 bouts and took home State and Regional Golden Gloves honors. After a nearly two-decade hiatus, he returned as a Master Class Boxer (competition for older fighters) and is undefeated (17-0), and has won the Trifecta, which is the largest three Master tournaments (Las Vegas, Dallas, New York) in the country. He’s won the Trifecta three years in a row and is recognized as the best Master Class Heavyweight boxer in America.
The ABHOF induction ceremony will take place as part of a live pro fight card in 2025. Date and location to be announced soon. Welcome to the Alabama Boxing Hall of Fame Brad Ginn!"

Brad's training dates back to the 80's, early teenage years with backyard boxing, eager to be like Mike, Tyson that is.
He would then link up with Warren Bigger of Huntsville, AL, at the age of 19 to learn the principles of Jeet Kune Do. Boxing, ju jitsu, trapping, Phillipino stick/knife, body mechanics were constant during his 3.5 years with Warren.
In 2003 he pursued amateur boxing with USA Boxing and secured a pass book which allowed him to register for boxing events. Without formal boxing training, he knew he needed guidance before entering the ring. Brad found Curt McCune of Champions Boxing in Birmingham, AL. Brad would train under Curt for 3.5 years honing in on boxing skills from one of the best in the Southeast before calling it a good run to concentrate on his business as a Real Estate Management CEO. Brad compiled an impressive record with a Southeastern Association title, semi finalist in 2004 Ringside World Championships, 3 Golden Gloves titles from 2004, 05, and 06, including a victory over Deontay Wilder in his last title defense. The Champions Boxing experience was invaluable.
CURRENTLY:
Now in 2021, after a long 15 year hiatus, Ginn decided to make a return to the ring in what some would consider to be in better physical shape at 46 years old than in his late 20's when he last competed.
Ginn's first Tournament July 23-25, 2021 in Ft Bragg, NC at the Christy Martin Invitational sponsored by Title Boxing was a success. He was registered in the 201lb Heavyweight division but learned the day prior he did not have any opponents and would need to move up to Super Heavyweight in order to compete. He did so and gave up over 17 lbs to his opponents. He controlled the bigger fighter on Saturday night winning a unanimous decision advancing to the finals on Sunday. Ginn would cap off the bout and win the Super Heavyweight Tournament Championship with a 3 round Knockout with an overhand left.
Brad entered the 2021 Atlanta Open Masters Tournament August 27-28. Unfortunately, he fell sick 3 days before the tournament yet pushed through and made the trip. Friday he came down with fever prompting him to seek medical attention Saturday morning. He tested negative for Covid19 and was diagnosed with upper respiratory infection. After receiving a shot, energy started to come back and rest was needed for the fight Sunday. Despite not having much gas, Brad fought great mixing in jabs, combinations, and power shots. He gave his opponent 2 standing 8 counts, but to his opponent's credit, he had a granite chin. Brad controlled the fight and secured yet another Championsip with a unanimous decision.
Brad will be competing in the Las Vegas Masters Invitational Tournament September 11-12 2021. Stay tuned...
Brad competed in the Las Vegas Masters Invitational September 11-12, 2021. He matched against a fundamentally sound fighter and one tough SOB. Brad won with an RSC3 after some punishing body blows took their toll. He would advance to the championship match against a fighter with more experience, on paper that is. Brad controlled the fighter with footwork and range. He knocked his opponent down with a 4 punch combination which prompted a standing 8 count. In the second round Brad would expose his opponent's limitation in movement and administer some powerful hooks which again led to another standing 8 count. He would finish off his opponent in the 3rd round after referee stopped the contest, another RSC3. Brad won the 201lb. Masters Tournament Championship.
This would be Brad's 3 straight Tournament in under 2 months and he has won all 3.
May 8, 2022:
Brad Ginn enters the Texas Masters Invitational in Houston, TX. Ginn matched up with a seasoned fighter, with a bit more experience than Ginn based on total of bouts. Because Ginn had to withdraw from the February Las Vegas Masters Tournament due to COVID infection, he trained with a chip on his shoulder for this fight camp. The agreed upon weight was 208lb for Ginn and 200lb for his opponent. Ginn landed a vicious hook sending his opponent to the canvas within seconds of the first round starting. Ginn would land a combination knocking his opponent out on his feet forcing the referee to stop the bout. Ginn would win the Texas Masters Invitational with a RSC-1.
Ginn is undefeated in his return to the ring and the hardware continues to be added to the collection of Championships.
Back to the lab...
July 2022
Brad signed up for the USA Boxing Nationals in Wichita, KS in July. He learned there would not be an opponent in his bracket as an Open Class Masters Boxer 1 week out from the tournament. As a result he would be declared winner by default. He quickly registered for Christy Martin's Invitational by Title Boxing only 2 weeks away which had a full bracket of Open Class Masters boxers in his division. Trip booked and paid. After a few hours of the weighing in process, his opponent decided to withdraw for personal reasons. The tournament Director offered the title match to other boxer in the bracket, to which he too, declined to box Ginn, citing it would be a mismatch of skill. Ginn was declared the Super Heavyweight Tournament Champion by walk-over. Ginn was highly disappointed as 1.5 fight camps were put into this tournament along with travel expenses. Ginn fought in this tournament last year and won it.
August 2022
Next on deck is the Gleasons Masters Tournament in Brooklyn, NY in late August. Unfortunately, Ginn suffered a broken 12th rib from a rabbit punch sustained in sparring the week before the tournament forcing a medical withdraw upon Doctor recommendation.
September 2022
Ginn is registered for the Buckhead Masters Tournament in Atlanta, GA September 2022. This tournament has been canceled due to lack of participants.
October 2022
The New Jersey Masters Championships will be held at the Showboat Casino, Atlantic City October 22-23, 2022. Ginn is registered and so are approximately 200 Masters Boxers making this the largest Masters Tournament in the USA thanks to Manny Fernandez and all his hardwork!
Finally!! Ginn is set to square off against big Tammer Abrahem of New Jersey weighing in at 255lb and standing 6'4. Tammer is a solid Super Heavyweight Boxer and is well revered amongst the Masters community. This certainly will be Ginn's biggest test to date.
OCTOBER 22, 2022
Ginn fought a brilliant fight showing many aspects from his arsenal: counter punching, defense, power in both hands, and good footwork. Ginn dropped the big fellow early in the first round with a right lead hook sending Tammer face first into the bottom ropes. Tammer got up with a standing 8 count only to be counter hooked again with that sledgehammer right hand of Ginn followed by a straight left forcing another standing 8 count into the bell ending the first round. The 2nd round was methodical with Ginn displaying combinations and solid head movement. Ginn continued to hunt down his opponent and control the action. The 3rd round began with Ginn landing some stiff jabs and his bigger opponent smothering him on the ropes. Ginn tied up his opponent forcing the ref to break the action on 2 separate occasions. On the 3rd occasion, Ginn did not hold long and instead turned his opponent only to unleash an explosion of punches, registering 12 unanswered blows, knocking his opponent's headgear sidways over his face forcing the referee to step in to call an equipment timeout. This was unfortunate for Ginn as it appeared his opponent was on his way out. Once action began, Ginn quickly administered an uppercut hook combination in the corner which knocked the big man's mouthpiece out forcing another equipment timeout by the referee. Ginn would win the Super Heavyweight Tournament Championship by unanimous decision!
Ginn and Abrahem took pictures afterwards and shared compliments. Ginn stated of the big fellow, "toughest guy I ever fought, has a granite chin, hit 'em with everything I had and still could not finish him."

Next on deck...2023 Las Vegas Masters Invitational in February. Stay tuned.
2023 Las Vegas Masters Tournament 2/26/23:
Ginn would kick off this 6 week Vegas fight camp in early January. One week into the camp, he would contract a serious illness derailing progress for 4 weeks and cause Ginn to lose 10lbs. After 2 different intervals of treatment, Ginn began training again in week 5 on a mission to get his weight and wind back in short time. Days into the resumed camp, he would sustain a broken nose his first sparring session of the camp. This set back would change the strategy and level of pressure Ginn would apply from a stamina perspective as well as a liability of a broken nose. Ginn was able to get back 7.5lbs.
Ginn's opponents would change a few times as is normal for Masters boxing since dropouts occur leading up to the big tournament. Big Richard Washington would be Ginn's next opponent standing at 6'5 235lbs.
Washington displayed excellent fundamentals keeping Ginn at distance with his snapping quick jabs. Ginn needing to avoid direct nose shots would stay evasive with head movement looking for angles inside that jab. As usual, the 1st round was a chess match with the boxers figuring each other out.
Round 2 would prove a read discovered by Ginn as pressure would pick up and deflecting Washington's jabs would allow Ginn to land body blows and throw some combos while inside. Ginn would land a heavy hook just before the bell.
Round 3 would culminate into a classic Ginn walk down followed by a devastating combination to the body-head-body which would drop the big fellow just 20 seconds into the round. Washington to his credit, would make it to his feet, but he would not come forward when the referee finished the standing 8 count signaling a No Mas. RSC-3 for Ginn.
Ginn and Washington hugged it out and shared compliments of each other and took pictures following the bout. This is a great example of the brotherhood in Masters Boxing.

Texas Masters Boxing Invitational
Main Street Boxing Championships
Houston, TX
Brad matched up with 38 yr old 206lb Ronnie Crespo hailing from Louisiana. Ginn came in at 216lbs for this Super Heavyweight match up. 48yr old Ginn coming fresh off a Las Vegas Championship looked to be in superior shape. In the 1st round, Ginn established the jab and controlled the center ring showing great ring generalship while setting the pace. A few power punch combos thrown by Ginn check the younger fighter keeping him on the perimeter for the 1st round.
The 2nd round started with Crespo landing a hard right on Ginn which evidently flipped the switch. Ginn immediately hunting Crespo down in the corner and threw 5 big power shots leading to an exciting power exchange between the two fighters culminating in a step back check hook from Ginn dropping Crespo. The young fighter showed his toughness and granite chin by answering the standing 8 count. Ginn walked down Crespo with some nice head movement leading to a hard straight left followed by a hook prompted the 2nd standing 8 count from the referee. Ginn smelled blood in the water and began pressing Crespo. The 10 second clap sounded and Ginn turned it up going for the knockout. A right and left hook combo sent the fighter to the ropes, Ginn then landed an uppercut followed by a hook. The referee stopped the action just before the bell. Crespo's corner would throw in the towel signaling they had seen enough. Ginn would be declared the winner by RSC-2. Ginn and Crespo would share compliments and hug it out after slugging it out and common post fight occurrence in the Masters Division.
Ginn looked impressive with both his control and pace, including his ability to finish. Another Championship tournament victory and some additional hardware to boot.
Next on deck...Gleasons in Brooklyn, NY May 2023...
May 2023- Ginn is registered for the Gleasons 7th Annual Masters Tournament. His opponent decided to back out after learning of his match up. Thankfully Ginn was informed he would have no match before traveling to Brooklyn, NY.
Next up The Rude Dog Masters Tournament in Connecticut by Paul Iannuzzi. Ginn's trainer, Snoop Martin, would also make the trip to Connecticut for this tournament. Paul guarantees a match for Ginn. After checking in Friday, Paul informs Ginn his opponent decided to back out after learning who he facing. An alternate opponent was sought out but, that too, proved fruitless as he also Googled Ginn and declined. Paul knowing the challenges Ginn faces trying to get matches wanted to acknowledge Ginn for his sportsmanship in and outside of the ring and so at the Rude dog Masters award show, Ginn was presented with 2023 Fighter of the Year. It was an uplifting moment for Ginn who shared a some words of gratitude and appreciation.
Next up The Las Vegas Doc Doherty Masters Tournament by Manny Fernandez...
July 2023- Ginn and trainer Snoop arrived in Vegas 1 day prior to the tournament to get registered and acclimated. Ginn would weigh in at 218lbs and looking in prime shape. The bout sheets were released but Ginn's opponent decided to back out of the match after Googling Ginn. So the story goes...Ginn and Snoop offered their services while there to boxers who needed corners. They would corner 4 boxers which would win all their bouts. It was a very rewarding experience to help these fighters achieve their goals. Manny voiced his appreciation for the duo. Back to Huntsville.
Next up...The New Jersey Masters Champion vs Champion Tournament by Manny Fernandez.
September 2023- This tournament compromises of past tournament Champions to face off for a quasi ranking system. Ginn was placed in a full 2 day bracket and excited to finally have a bout. Ginn would match up against Gary Garland of Ohio on day 1. The bout started out with a leaping and looping wild hook from Garland in a desperate attempt to knock out Ginn which apeared Garland performed what looked like a pirouette. Garland is a muscular and powerful fighter, not Boxer, but brawler. Ginn knew he had to watch for the storm early and rely on sheild defense. That strategy would prove fruitful for Ginn as Garland would wear down and tire, setting Ginn up to pick apart the muscle bound brawler over the course of the bout. Ginn would win a decisionin what most agree was a ugly bout, but a W nonetheless. Day 2 had Ginn matched up with big Tammer Abrahem in what would be a rematch of the 2022 New Jersey Masters Tournament. Ginn was eager to get back in the ring and display some of the newer tools he and Snoop have been working on for several months. Ginn weighed in at 216lbs Sunday morning. Snoop called Ginn to notify him of the bout number so the ritual of pre-fight routine could take place. Unfortunately, Ginn's opponent decided to back out citing some personal challenges. Ginn was absolutely deflated. Manny would honor Ginn during intermission with the tournament championship belt as a walk-over victory but gathered the applause and support of the spectators at the Showboat Casino. Ginn and Snoop would offer their services for a few boxers who needed coaches. Again, another rewarding experience to help others achieve their goals. Manny again voiced his appreciation for their volunteerism. Back to Huntsville...
Ginn is done for 2023 and remains undefeated as a Masters Boxer at 14-0. Looking at February 2024 to be back in Vegas for what is settting up to be the biggest Masters Tournament ever as there are several competitors coming from Germany and Australia bring an International flare to this event. Stay tuned...
February 24-25, 2024
Ginn would enter the 5th annual Las Vegas Masters Championships in a full bracket; meaning a 2 day advancing tournament should he win. Ginn would match up against Cedrick Wilkinson Jr 230lb 54yrs old Marine from North Dakota with 29 fights under his belt. Ginn came in at 217lbs in Supreme shape right out of a 7 week fight camp. Within 10 seconds of the opening bell, Ginn would drop Wilkinson with a straight left and possibly breaking the big fellow's nose as blood began to flow. After a standing 8 count, the corner tried cleaning him up before calling it back to action. Another 10 seconds later, Ginn would send him to the canvas once again with a lead hook forcing the referee to stop the contest. The bout did not make 20 seconds into the 1st round. Ginn would advance to the finals on Sunday. Because Jimmy Moore would win a 3 round war vs Greg Smiley, Moore would face Ginn in what would be a rematch of the 2021 Las Vegas Masters Championships finals, which Ginn won by RSC-3.
Moore would weigh in over 230lbs and come into this bout with 34 fights under his belt. From opening bell, Moore looked good using jabs and stalking Ginn forcing Ginn up against the ropes. Ginn would get his arm caught up in the ropes forcing the referee to halt the action to straighten the ropes. Ginn would shake his shoulder out as if there could be something wrong but evidently was just fine. Referee called it back into action with Moore coming back to force the action with Ginn. Ginn would door knock the jab until landing a body blow with a straight left causing Moore to drop his guard leaving him exposed to a brutal right hook. Moore was stunned but still came forward and Ginn countered with a straight left hitting Moore square in face causing the big fellow to fall face first into the turn buckle. The Referee would waive off the contest after Moore was unresponsive to the referee. The bout would be called in the 1st round (RSC-1). The 2 boxers hugged it out after Ginn walked over immediately to make sure Moore was OK.
Ginn would not spend more than a combined 50 seconds with both matches while winning his 3 Las Vegas Masters Championship and improving his record in the Masters to 16-0.
August 11, 2024
2024 Doc Dougherty Classic: Battle of the Ageless (Las Vegas)
Ginn matched up against Greg Murphy of Michigan. Murphy weighed in at 235lb with 25 fights under his belt. Ginn weighed in at 220lb. Temperature would be a factor as it was 107 degrees outside but because there was no AC inside it was nearly the same temperature. Ginn would plan to make his opponent show his skill and intent early on with the strategy to take the stronger Murphy to the deep waters. 1st round was very competitive with both fighters cautious of each other's power. Ginn was busier and landed more punches winning the 1st round. Ginn would then pick up the pace in the 2 round landing some big body shots making tough for his stronger opponent to breathe, especially given the temperature. Ginn would pour it on in the 3rd giving the big man a standing 8 count after a brutal series of uppercuts. Ginn won the fight unanimously and had moved his Masters record to 17-0. Murphy's chin was incredibly durable as many fighters before him had fallen to Ginn's punching power.
